Gifts-in-Kind

Individuals, businesses and corporations are encouraged to provide gifts-in-kind of good quality, non-cash products or goods that the United Way can distribute to registered charities or funded agencies and their clients – people who are living in poverty or recovering from a disaster in their lives such as a fire. Examples include new (surplus) or gently used furniture for household or office use; appliances; office supplies and equipment; computers (without operating systems installed) and printers; entertainment coupons and tickets; new toys; new clothing; books; recreational and sports equipment; and supplies for shelters (e.g. unopened or sealed personal items such as soap, toothpaste, shampoo etc.). Regrettably we cannot accept used clothing, cribs, used toys or mattresses.

Renfrew County United Way does not place a value on gifts or provide tax receipts for Gifts-in-Kind donations. A request for a tax receipt can be made to the recipient organization.

The role of Renfrew County United Way is solely to match the gift-in-kind with charitable organization needs. If you are in a position to help people in need in this way, please call us at 1-888-592-2213.
